DRAFT — requires lawyer review (UK/EU digital purchases, refunds, VAT)
Content policy
Draft of 13 October 2026. Square brackets mark details still to be filled in.
Every spot shows its holder's brand to everyone who visits. These rules keep the universe safe and welcoming. They apply to names, taglines, descriptions, messages, logos, banners and links, and to the pages those links lead to.
Not allowed
- Scams, phishing, malware, or links to pages that try to trick or harm visitors.
- Content that copies someone else's brand, trademark or copyright work without permission, or that could mislead people about who you are.
- Hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or violent content, content that promotes self-harm, and anything that targets or exposes a private person.
- Illegal content or links to it, including content that sexually exploits children, terrorist content and anything that incites violence.
- Adverts that are untrue or misleading, or that break advertising law. Regulated products and services (for example gambling, alcohol, tobacco, financial services, weapons, adult services) are not allowed unless we have agreed it in writing.
- Claims that AdCosmos or a spot is a financial product, or promises about what a spot will earn or be worth.
- Fake visit or click numbers, or bots that create them.
How we check
- Links must be https:// addresses. We check them against safety lists when you save, and may hold a link until a person has looked at it.
- New logos and banners are reviewed before they are shown. Until then visitors see the default emblem.
- Text is checked against a word list. A match does not block your save, but a person reviews it.
- Anyone can report a brand. When several different people report the same brand it is hidden while we review it.
What happens if a rule is broken
We may hide a brand, reset it to the default, or remove a link. The spot stays with its holder unless an account is suspended for repeated or serious breaches. We email the holder when we act, saying what we did, which rule applies and why, and how to appeal. We will not act on a report without a person looking at it first, except where the law or safety needs it to be faster. To appeal, reply to that email within 30 days; a different person from the one who made the first decision looks at it and replies. You can also take the matter to court, and in the EU use an out-of-court dispute body.
Trademark, copyright and illegal content
If a brand uses your trademark or copyright work without permission, or you think content is illegal, email [legal and takedown email] with the spot (for example "Planet #17"), what is infringed or unlawful and why, a link to the content, your name and contact details, and proof that you hold the rights if you are claiming them. State that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised and that your notice is accurate. You can also use the Report button on the spot's page. We act on well-founded notices quickly and tell both sides.
If your brand is removed after a copyright notice and you think that was a mistake, you can send us a counter-notice with your contact details, the content and why you have the right to use it. We pass it to the person who complained and may restore the content unless they start legal action. We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyright. [US copyright agent details, once registered.]
Abuse of the report system (false or bulk reports) may lead to us ignoring your reports or suspending your account.
